ABOUT ANDREW PERCIVAL
I embraced photography later in life, at the age of twenty-five, beginning with snapshots of my friends on their bikes, which led to a deeper exploration of camera settings. A few years later, I enrolled in college to further my photography education at thirty. This experience enhanced my technical skills and boosted my confidence in interacting with people.
Years into my college journey, I found joy in photographing individuals, leading to my first role as a camera assistant for a wedding company. This position encouraged me to engage more actively and expand my knowledge. Additionally, I ventured into music photography, capturing the essence of open mic nights and the performers.
Continuing to photograph my friends in action, whether biking or skateboarding, honed my expertise in sports photography and mastering fast shutter speeds. Eventually, I experimented with landscape photography, and it was through this medium that I discovered my passion for Scotland's breath-taking landscapes.
PHOTOGRAPHY
My photography journey has been incredibly rewarding; it has significantly advanced my career and boosted my confidence in sharing my work with my audience on Instagram and Facebook. I am grateful for my wonderful followers who have inspired me to continue honing my skills as a photographer.
I've explored much of Scotland, capturing its breath-taking seascapes, vast landscapes, and rolling hills. Some of my best images were taken while traveling through Glencoe, then along the coast, documenting stunning sunsets and sunrises, and finally, the snow-capped peaks of the Highlands.
Hiking and photography ground me, providing a sense of peace and relaxation. I am patient with my craft, waiting for the perfect light and moment to capture that special shot.
OUTSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY
Alongside numerous hobbies and a job I'm passionate about, my second love is cycling, which complements my work at a bike shop where I repair bikes. I enjoy bikepacking, which I find thrilling and a fantastic way to challenge myself to take the road less traveled.
I also have a fondness for hiking and camping, often combining the two. This allows me to discover new places, scouting locations for my next photography adventure. Besides that, I relish good food and day trips with my soon-to-be wife, Jacqueline.
